Holy Innocents - Fr Peter Jenner

Former Clergy: Father Peter Jenner

Picture of Fr Peter JennerFr. Peter originates from the Medway Towns in Kent. He went to Catholic Primary and Secondary Schools, but puts most of his early Christian formation down to his "charismatic" mother and the influence of the Carmelites at Aylesford Priory.

Before entering Seminary, he worked in the computer industry in Kent and the Midlands, which has remained both a professional skill and a fascinating hobby for him. He went to prepare for priesthood at St. John's Seminary, Wonersh, and was ordained priest for the Archdiocese of Southwark in 1996. He served Holy Innocents for five years before being appointed Parish Priest at Battersea Park (Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St Joseph). In 2007 he was appointed Parish Priest at Chessington (St. Catherine of Siena).

He has served on the National Conference of Priests of England and Wales, first as a representative of Southwark diocese from 2000, and then from 2004 as the Executive Secretary of the Conference. He is a Bachelor of Theology and has since furthered his interest in Canon Law by becoming an auditor of the Southwark Tribunal and a member of the Canon Law Society of Great Britain and Ireland.

His other interests include the cinema, amateur radio (his call sign is M0PDJ), board games and traditional American 'bluegrass' folk music.. When on holiday, he has been known to fish, try to hit a golf ball and to ski on snow (it's not pretty but he can do it).
