Picture of Fr Brian CoyleFr Brian Coyle was born in 1956 in Magherafelt, Northern Ireland, and lived in Portadown until 1966, when he moved to Kent to attend school. He attended the Benedictine School in Thanet until 1974, read Law at Oxford from 1974 to 1977 and entered St Augustine's Abbey, Ramsgate, in September that year. He studied for the priesthood at Heythrop College, London, from 1979 to 1982 and in Rome from 1982 until 1985. He was ordained priest on 29 June 1984.

He gained his PGCE at Strawberry Hill and worked full time as a teacher and school administrator for ten years until 1996. He then requested a move to parish work and was sent as Assistant Priest to St Joseph's Church, Bromley, where he stayed until January 2000. He undertook six months' sabbatical study in Louvain in Belgium later on in 2000. In September 2002 he took up appointment as Director of the Christian Education Centre in Tooting Bec which enabled him to supply on a monthly basis at Holy Innocents, which he found to be a very warm and welcoming parish community.

In 2006 he was appointed to his present post as Parish Priest at Morden (St. Teresa of the Child Jesus). He is a member of the Diocesan Committee for Ongoing Formation of Priests.
